A Very Special Performance of “Mard-e Tanha”

Farhang Foundation is extremely proud to present a very special edition of #FarhangPerformances featuring a truly remarkable young man.

Devin Maghen is a musician, singer/songwriter, and student at UCLA’s Herb Alpert School of Music, and part of Farhang Foundation’s historic Iranian music program at UCLA. At age sixteen, Devin was involved in a severe motor vehicle accident which caused him significant vision loss, setting him on a new route in life.
He crossed paths with Beyond Vision Music Foundation, a music organization that helps the blind, where he began as a student and now volunteers as a part-time instructor. Devin feels music has the power to heal and bring people together. In addition to performing, he aspires to teach and perform music in a future career.

““ranian music is the guiding force that has propelled me to my current place in life because it has been with me since birth–the melodic beauty of Iranian music aids in self-expression and it is my pleasure to share this performance with Farhang Foundation and its audience.” ~ Devin Maghen
