HONORING THE MEMORY OF SAMAD BEHRANGI; TEACHER, WRITER, HUMAN RIGHTS ADVOCATE…

In the world of contemporary education and literature of Iran very few have reached the depth of understanding of how education and socio-cultural idiosyncrasies are organically intertwined, to the extent that Samad Behrangi had.

In his book “An in-depth analysis of educational deadlock” he points to the absurdity of how western imported textbooks depicting meticulous life of Dara and Sara would be alien to vast majority of children who have no connections to the world that such socially detached educational system tends to superimpose on them.
He forcefully advocates for teaching children truth and reality instead of painting the world with superficiality and glitter.
“…Shouldn’t we tell the child that more than half of the world’s population are hungry, and why they are hungry, and how hunger could be diminished? Shouldn’t we give the child a true and logical understanding of the history and development of human societies?”, he admonished the educational system.
In his other masterfully penned books, including the “Little Black Fish” Samad Behrangi boldly, yet in simple language calls masses into action to transform self and with it the political apparatus, Kingfisher, that has used its propaganda machines towards pacifying them, while utilizing its suppressive organs to force absorption of subjects and culture that hardly have any connections to vast majority of the nation.
