ابومحمّد مُشرف‌الدین مُصلِح بن عبدالله بن مشرّف، متخلص به سعدی یکی از شناخته شده ترین شاعران ایرانی است. او شهرت خود را وام دار توانمندی بی مانند خود در واژه ورزی است؛ استعدادی که فرای سده ها، نام استاد سخن و معلم اخلاق را برای او به ارمغان است. به بهانه روز ملی سعدی برابر با یکم اردیبهشت (21 آپریل)، در این برنامه از مجموعه انجمن شعر پارسی لس آنجلس سعدی خواهیم خواند و درباره او سخن خواهیم گفت.

The Persian Poetry Forum of Los Angeles

Sa’di Shirazi is the 12th century Persian poet widely recognized for his mastery with words as well as his ethical teachings for which he has earned titles, such as The Wordsmith or The Ethics Guru. His influence is beyond the bounds of any border. In non-Persian-speaking communities, Sa’di is perhaps best known for his book, The Bustan, which has been ranked among the top 100 books of all times, as well as his most famous poem, Bani Ādam, that was installed at the entrance of the United Nation in 2005:
“All human beings are members of one frame,
Since all, at first, from the same essence came.
When time afflicts a limb with pain
The other limbs at rest cannot remain.
If thou feel not for other’s misery
A human being is no name for thee.”
Please join us for a lecture and poetry reading in celebration of Sa’di’s 812th birth-year.
