The Love Button Global Movement

Brings an Upbeat Evening of Love and Sufi Devotional Music

to Santa Monica’s Broad Stage on October 2

The Love Button Global Movement, a nonprofit humanitarian organization, is hosting a special evening of Sufi music and dance on October 2, supporting the nonprofit organization’s mission to spread love. This benefit concert features a live performance of the exciting Fanna-Fi-Allah Sufi Qawwali musical ensemble and also celebrates the birthday of iconic Sufi mystic poet Rumi, the prophet of love.

This is a gathering of Love, holding the light of brotherhood and sisterhood and calling forth a deeper clarity of loving. The venue seats 500 people who will experience the ecstatic sounds of Qawwali and dance the night away. In addition to Love Button supporters, the audience will be comprised of yoga practitioners, wellness professionals, Kirtan sacred music fans, spiritual and meditation enthusiasts and others seeking a heart centered experience and deeper consciousness.

The Love Button Global Movement was founded by two Persian American doctors based in Los Angeles, Dr. Habib Sadeghi and Dr. Sherry Sami. They recognized the power of love to heal, transform and to create a better world. They founded the nonprofit Love Button, which supports programs locally and globally that promote physical, emotional and mental health, nurture education and cultivate loving action.

Fanna-Fi-Allah is the perfect musical group to headline this benefit concert. Their message is simple – Love, and their music speaks an amazing universal language that brings together people of diverse backgrounds. There is an ancient wisdom in their music that is not only heard, but profoundly felt. Fanna-Fi-Allah presents the ancient Sufi tradition of Qawwali with powerful devotion, ecstatic rhythms of tabla, and group clapping. Qawwali, a specific type of Sufi music, is a thousand-year-old tradition from the mystic Islamic cultures of South Asia, that ceremonially unites people of diverse backgrounds through devotional music. Qawwali music expresses what we feel, what we cannot put into words.

Fanna-Fi-Allah Sufi Qawwali are the first group of westerners to immerse themselves in the classical art of Qawwali – Sufi devotional music. They hold the flame of traditional Sufi Qawwali music, with the blessings of their teachers; some of the greatest masters of the Qawwali form in India and Pakistan. The group’s founding members have spent over 20 years learning this classical art, which celebrates the great Sufi mystics of old and relishes in the love of the Divine through poetry. Sung with a powerful soaring chorus and accompanied by the energetic rhythms of tabla and group clapping, the Beloved is celebrated with ecstatic devotion.

The richness of Sufi devotional culture will be shared at this exciting event. Fanni Fi-Allah has performed more than 1,500 concerts around the world, enthralling audiences with their inspiring musical precision and dynamic, passionate style. Fanna-Fi-Allah is one of the most popular traditional Qawwali ensembles of the present era. They are a cultural phenomenon, traveling peacefully around the globe to promote a message of divine connection, cultural understanding and unity through this traditional music.

The concert is on Tuesday, October 2 at 7:30pm at the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage, located at 1310 11th Street in Santa Monica. Tickets range from $35 – $65 and are available at www.Fanna-tix.com.

Ticket proceeds support the loving mission of the Love Button Global Movement, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, and its #GiveLoveCampaign, supporting school programs to end shaming and bullying, training compassionate physicians of tomorrow, and global humanitarian programs.
