A new policy concerning non-immigrant visas, i.e. tourist, student, temporary employment, etc., recently implemented requires visa applicants declare that they “do not have fear of persecution” to return back to their home country upon expiration of their visa validity in the US.
This is significant as to the filing for asylum in the US after arrival, since such declaration would be used to deny asylum applications should the non-immigrant applies for asylum, absent “change of circumstances in the homeland country”.
