پروانه استعاره ای است از دگرگونی و تحرک، که اگر چه از درون پیله ای ثابت به تصویر کشیده شده است مرزهای تخیل را پشت سر گذاشته و به لایه های عمیق واقعیت های زندگی می پردازد. پروانه قصه دختریست که رازها و محنت های پوشیده در سکوتش را در قامت رقصی باوقار در پس کوچه های زندگی به نمایش می گذارد. کوچه باغ هایی که معتقد است خدایش برایش گسترده است.

رقص برای پروانه اندیشیدن است، اندیشیدن در حرکت. بداهه پردازیست، بداهه پردازی در آموختن. دانستن است، دانستنی که با فراکنشهای موزون وگاه ناموزون زندگی به دست می آید. او با هر گام خود را رهسپار سفری نامعلوم با کوله باری که هرگز فرصت آماده کردنش را نداشته است میابد.

لیکن از درک حکمتش غافل نمیماند. پروانه قصه خرامیدن در کوچه باغ های به هم تنیده دنیاست که در عین خشونت وسوسه انگیز است، دنیایی که دائم در حال تغییر و تحول است و پروانه نیز بخشی از این تحول

Young dancer Parvaneh (Butterfly) gracefully carries her wounds and burdens, holding them close as she dances on a path that she trusts God to lay before her. To her, dancing is thought in the form of movement – to improvise as she goes along rather than to follow a calculated plan. With each step, she grows wiser and entangles herself further with a tantalizing, textured world that never ceases to morph around her.
