LAFC SUFFERS LATE DEFEAT IN VANCOUVER, 2-1

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) dropped its fourth straight match on Saturday night in Vancouver, as the Whitecaps came from behind with two second half goals, including a winner in the 89th minute by Ryan Gauld.

Diego Rossi scored on a penalty kick in the 45th minute to give LAFC a 1-0 lead at halftime, but Vancouver, who was playing their first game at home at B.C. Place in 539 days evened the match in the 60th minute with a goal from Brian White. With time winding down, it was Gauld who was able to score to extend the Black & Gold’s winless streak to seven games.

LAFC hosts the MLS All-Stars at Banc of California this week, as the Best of MLS takes on the Best of Liga MX. First, the MLS Skills Challenge presented by AT&T 5G with the stars of MLS against stars of the Mexican league takes center stage at the Banc on Tuesday, Aug. 24 at 6 p.m. PT on FS1 and TUDN. On Wednesday, Aug. 25 Carlos Vela, Eduard Atuesta, Jesus Murillo and Diego Rossi will play in the MLS All-Star Game presented by Target at 6:30 p.m. PT.

LAFC returns to MLS action on Saturday, Aug. 28 when they host the Galaxy at Banc of California Stadium at 4 p.m. PT and will broadcast live on FOX and FOX Deportes (SPA).
