Dr. Shirin Nooravi is a licensed clinical psychologist in Newport Beach, CA. Dr. Nooravi has over 17 years of experience in the field of psychology and over 20 years experience advocating for children and families in Southern California. She is known as an ‘ambassador’ in her field. Dr. Nooravi has been featured on Radio Tehran, Radio Iran, National Iranian TV, Iran Television, KIRN AM 670 and in the Javanan Newspaper.
Dr. Nooravi has a private practice, which helps children, teens and adults. She offers group therapy and classes as well as one-on-one sessions online, by phone and in-person. She offers guidance and support to her clients using talk therapy along with various others therapies like neurofeedback, biofeedback, EMDR, Clinical Hypnotherapy, EEG, Alpha System, Anger Management, and more.
Dr. Shirin Nooravi also offers various testing such as: Robert Appreciative test for children, MMPI, BASC, Connors, STAI, Wisc III, Bender, WRAT, TAT, CAT, Vineland, Brief Behavior, The Piers-Harris Children’s Self Concepts Scales, ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Personality Disorders, TOVA, Neuropsychological testing for the elderly.
Before Dr. Nooravi began her private practice she taught Farsi to Iranian-American children in Los Angeles. She worked as a host in radio and TV, wrote a weekly column for an Iranian newspaper and, served as a vice principal at two private schools. She continued her education post-doctorate by training to conduct educational and psychological tests at the Reiss Davis Child Study Center.
Dr. Nooravi believes in a family system therapy technique which means that the whole family should be treated, not just the “problem” person. She follows a solution-focused approach and believes that humans have an amazing capacity for change and growth. Her philosophy on families is that parents can raise happy and healthy children once they learn how to communicate effectively.

Dr. Nooravi has been married to her husband Farhad for 35 years and they have three children together.

She is the President of the Pro Family Group, a non-profit networking group for women and couples with the mission of educating and empowering which she leads monthly at Encino & Irvine.
