Researchers at Seoul National University have developed a microneedle patch capable of naturally regrowing teeth by activating dormant stem cells in the gums. The patch uses the compound tideglusib to stimulate enamel regrowth and cavity repair, offering a completely pain-free alternative to traditional dental treatments.

Preclinical trials showed remarkable results, with enamel repair and cavity healing occurring within weeks. The patch works by delivering regenerative medicine directly to the tooth roots and requires just 20 minutes of application per day, making it convenient and non-invasive.

Experts estimate that the patch could cost around $300 per tooth and may be available by 2026. If widely adopted, this technology could transform dental care for billions, reducing the need for drilling, fillings, and invasive procedures.
