NBA Legend ‘Magic’ Johnson Serves As Grand Marshal At Pasadena’s Rose Parade — Here’s Everything You Need to Know
Pasadena lights up once again on New Year’s Day with dazzling floats, marching bands, and decades of local tradition.
Covering more than 5.5 miles, the parade features a stunning mix of floral floats, marching bands, and equestrian units, all bringing the streets to life. The theme for 2026 is “The Magic in Teamwork,” celebrating what can be achieved when people come together to create something beautiful.
Exciting floats and famous faces
This year’s parade will be led by Grand Marshal Earvin “Magic” Johnson, adding extra star power to an already dazzling event. Parade-goers can look forward to a range of creative floats, including designs from OneLegacy’s Donate Life, the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, and even a special Star Trek float celebrating the franchise’s 60th anniversary.
In addition to floats, the parade features performances by marching bands from high schools, colleges, and community groups, adding live music and energy to every corner of the route. Some special participants include students from Kennesaw Mountain High School and local heroes being honored for their community service.
Once the parade is over, Floatfest allows visitors to see the floats up close from January 1–3, complete with food, music, and a festive atmosphere!
