The SoCalPersian Internship is a 10-week immersive experience designed for bilingual (English/Farsi) students interested in the intersection of digital media, community commerce, and cultural programming.
* Compensation: $18.50 per hour
* Duration: 10 Weeks (Summer)
* Location: KIRN 670AM (In-person at radio station and on-site SoCal events)
Key Responsibilities

Sales & Partnerships Support
* Lead Generation: Identify Persian-owned businesses in Southern California (lawyers, real estate, medical, etc.) that would benefit from the SoCalPersian directory.
* Pitch Assistance: Help draft sales decks and outreach emails in both English and Farsi.
* CRM Management: Maintain an organized database of current and prospective advertisers.

Programming & Content Creation
* Farsi Copywriting: Translate and adapt English content into engaging, culturally relevant Farsi for the website and social media.
* Community Calendar: Research and curate upcoming Persian concerts, networking events, and community gatherings across SoCal.
* SEO Optimization: Assist in tagging and titling Persian-language articles to improve search visibility.

Production & Digital Media
* Multimedia Support: Assist in the production of short-form video content (Reels/TikTok) Highlighting local businesses or cultural landmarks.
* Graphic Design: Use tools like Canva or Photoshop to create bilingual promotional banners and social media posts.
* Newsletter Coordination: Help assemble the weekly “What’s Happening in SoCal” email blast.
* Weekly on-sites to promote radio station in the community and interact with the public
Candidate Requirements
* Bilingual Proficiency: Must be able to read, write, and speak fluently in both English and Farsi.
* Cultural Connection: A deep understanding of the Iranian-American community and its nuances in Southern California.
* Tech Savvy: Familiarity with social media platforms, Google Workspace, and basic CMS (like WordPress).
* Soft Skills: Strong communication skills and a “self-starter” attitude.
