PENDAR is a memoir of courage, heartbreak, and perseverance. A family’s world is turned upside down after the Iranian revolution and the start of the Iran-Iraq war. Young 12-year old Pendar learns that children his age are being sent to the front lines of the war and he is likely next to be drafted. With no other alternatives, Pendar’s father takes the initiative to do whatever is necessary to get him to safety.

Pendar is a first account story recalled and told from the eyes of a young boy. Pendar is an inspirational true story of survival and coming-of-age against all odds. It celebrates the importance of not taking no for an answer and never letting go of what drives the human spirit, HOPE!

Written by first-time Author Pendar, who arrived in America with only the shirt on his back in 1987. Relive the story as Pendar travels with his father through seven countries before making it to the U.S. in the most unimaginable turn of events.
