City of Los Angeles Emergency Alert: The National Weather Service is forecasting that rain storms will impact Los Angeles from Tuesday evening, February 04 to Friday, February 07. While the amount of rainfall expected in the LA area is less than an inch, recent burn areas from the Palisades, Hurst, Kenneth, and Sunset fires are at a higher risk of debris flows and water runoff that may contain hazardous substances. Get ready and take extra precautions, especially if you are in an area that was impacted by the recent wildfires.

Pacific Coast Highway Closure:
Pacific Coast Highway has closed at the direction of Caltrans as of 3 pm on Tuesday, February 4th, 2025, between Chautauqua Blvd in Los Angeles to Carbon Beach Terrace in Malibu in both directions for the upcoming storms and possible debris flow. Residents of the Palisades who possess passes can continue to access the community via Chautauqua Blvd. However, please be aware that there is a potential risk of debris flow in that area. Caltrans geotechnical engineers will assess the slopes and canyons on Friday, February 14, 2025, to determine if the highway can be safely reopened to all motorists.

When preparing for the storm, take the following actions:
