MEDIA ADVISORY – Major Donation Event to Benefit Victims of This Month’s Los Angeles Wildfires

MAJOR DONATION EVENT TO BENEFIT VICTIMS OF THIS MONTH’S LOS ANGELES WILDFIRES

WHEN: Friday, January 17, 2024, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

  • 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Pre-registered evacuees arriving on buses from American Red Cross-managed shelters
  • 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Evacuees arriving via their own transportation (those living under an evacuation order – ID verification required)

ABOUT: Twelve Los Angeles professional sports organizations – the Angels, Angel City FC, Chargers, Clippers, Dodgers, Ducks, Galaxy, LAFC, Kings, Lakers, Rams and Sparks – in partnership with the teams’ own foundations have joined forces with Fanatics and the Fanatics Foundation to distribute $3 million worth of Fanatics merchandise to Angelenos who have been evacuated from their homes. Teams are also collectively contributing thousands of essential items including apparel, personal hygiene kits, school supplies and sneakers that will be given out at three venues.

The resource fair will also provide evacuated families with access to representatives from organizations who offer support as they rebuild.

NOTES: We ask media to note that only those with proof of residency in evacuated Zip Codes are eligible to attend. Pre-arranged bus transportation to stadium distribution sites is being provided to those currently residing in evacuation shelters managed by the American Red Cross. Lunch will be provided to individuals and families at the stadium events.

  • Evacuee entrance (opening at 11 a.m.): Enter at S. Hoover St., take first right and park in Green Lot. Proceed to Northwest Pepsi Plaza

Dodger Stadium (Lot 1, 1000 Vin Scully Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90012)

  • Media entrance (opening at 9 a.m.): Enter at Gate A, park in Lot F
  • Evacuee entrance (opening at 11 a.m.): Enter at Gate E, proceed to Lot 1
  • Participating teams: Dodgers, Galaxy, Kings, Lakers, Sparks

SoFi Stadium; The Shops at Hollywood Park (1100 Prairie Ave., Inglewood, CA 90301)

  • Media entrance (opening at 9 a.m.): Enter off Prairie at Hardy St, park in PS2
  • Evacuee entrance (opening at 11 a.m.): Enter off Prairie at 97th St, park in PS2 and PS3
  • Participating teams: Clippers, Chargers, Rams

BACKGROUND: The event follows Monday’s announcement that the 12 professional organizations have pledged a combined donation of more than $8 million to support victims in need, as well as those fighting the fires. Beneficiaries of the teams’ contributions include the American Red CrossLos Angeles Fire Department Foundation, California Fire FoundationEaton Canyon Fire Relief and Recovery FundWorld Central KitchenCalifornia Community Foundation Wildfire Recovery FundTeam Rubicon and various local animal rescue organizations.
