With its echoes of the attacks during the Yom Kippur War fifty years ago to this day, we are heartsick to awaken to Hamas’ coordinated terror operation on yet another holy day for our people. While our extended Jewish family in Israel has responded to this as a declared State of War, the specific and deliberate targeting of civilians for indiscriminate murder, abduction, and hostage-taking is one of the most heinous acts of terrorism in Israel’s history. We stand with Israel in its defense against this insidious invasion, and we pray that she will find the courage and resilience to endure the coming days as the tragic toll unfolds.
