LA Galaxy Home Match At Historic Rose Bowl Kicks Off Club’s 2023 MLS Regular Season; Entire LAFC 2023 Schedule Announced at Later Date

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) will open their 2023 MLS regular season with an “away” match against intercity rival the LA Galaxy in a historic clash at Rose Bowl Stadium on Saturday, Feb. 25. Rose Bowl Stadium will become the biggest stage for Los Angeles’ marquee soccer rivalry between LAFC and the LA Galaxy as both teams open their 2023 MLS season at the iconic venue.

This match also represents the inauguration of the multiyear partnership between MLS and Apple, so fans around the world who are unable to attend this historic match in person will be able to watch it on the Apple TV app, which is available on Apple devices, smart TVs, streaming devices from Roku, Amazon, and Google, game consoles, and the web at tv.apple.com.

The entire LAFC 2023 MLS regular season schedule with kickoff times and broadcast details will be announced at a later date as part of Major League Soccer’s full schedule announcement.

“This rivalry has, from day one, delivered an energy and electricity that together with incredible moments and memories on the pitch, has established it among the most engaging not only in Los Angeles but across MLS,” LAFC Co-President & CBO Larry Freedman said. “It is only fitting that we are now taking it to one of the most iconic venues in all of sports.”

This will be the 17th all-time meeting between the two teams, and the first at the historic stadium where the Galaxy played their first-ever match on Sept. 29, 1996 and served as their home until 2002.

“The LA Galaxy are excited to write a new chapter in the storied soccer legacy of Los Angeles as we kick off our 2023 campaign against our intercity rival LAFC at the iconic Rose Bowl Stadium,” said LA Galaxy President Chris Klein. “We have a great history at the most legendary sports venue in the United States and know this will be a great spectacle for fans as we place one of the most exciting new rivalries in the world on LA’s biggest stage.”
