Docunight presents “Tehran Without Permission & The Journey of Maryam”

unnamed-89

This weekend, we are featuring two films by Sepideh Farsi as part of her upcoming Spotlight on Docunight.

Tehran Without Permission (2009)

Tehran without Permission is a collage-style portrait of a city in flux. With a blend of characters from two different generations in various cityscapes — including women at a beauty salon, men relaxing at cafés, taxi drivers, hip-hop artists, street performers, and the restless youth — Farsi paints a picture of a city beset by social and political tension, held aloft only by the indomitable spirit and character of its population.
