LAFC CO-PRESIDENT LARRY FREEDMAN NOMINATED AS FINALIST FOR BEST EXECUTIVE AT WORLD FOOTBALL SUMMIT AWARDS

Winner Announced on Monday, November 16th

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) today announced that LAFC Co-President Larry Freedman has been nominated as a finalist for the upcoming World Football Summit Industry Awards in the “Best Executive” category, a yearly award given to the global football executive whose contributions have made a change for the benefit of the institution, made the most efficient use of its resources and has achieved greater impact according to their capabilities.

Other finalists include Christian Seifert, CEO of the Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL), the body responsible for operating the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga; and Jordan Gardner, Chairman of the Board, Managing Director & Co-Owner of the Danish Professional Football Club FC Helsingør.

“It’s a true honor to be recognized alongside my fellow nominees who are each doing incredible things for global football,” Freedman said. “This acknowledgement stands as a recognition of all the LAFC community has been able to accomplish together and is yet another step in our aspiration to be recognized as a global club.”

Established in 2016, the World Football Summit is where the football industry’s leading stakeholders meet to shape the future of the beautiful game. The platform has evolved from a yearly gathering taking place in Madrid, focused on the European market, to a growing series of global on-site and online events that cover the challenges and opportunities of the different regions and sectors in this thriving industry. Alongside the yearly summit, The WFS Industry Awards were created to acknowledge and reward the achievements of these executives, managers, sponsors, agencies, media, NGOs and other professionals whose talent, passion and dedication help make football the greatest show of our time.

Past winners of the “Best Executive” award include: Darren Eales, President of Atlanta United FC (2019); Beppe Marotta, General Manager of Juventus (2018) and Gustavo Silikovich, General Director of Club Atlético River Plate (2017).
