| Hispanic media company also announced the addition of Mexican legend Claudio Suárez to its sports broadcasting team as color analyst The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) and Estrella Media announced today the local broadcast schedule for the first phase of in-market regular season matches. Estrella’s KRCA 62 will air two of LAFC’s upcoming matches, starting with the road contest against Real Salt Lake on Wednesday, August 26. The Club’s Official Spanish Broadcast TV Partner will also broadcast LAFC’s home match against the Portland Timbers on Sunday, September 13 at 8:00 p.m. PT. The remaining regular season games and broadcast details will be announced at a later date. Suárez enjoyed a successful 18-year career in his native country, playing in almost 500 matches for Pumas UNAM, Chivas, and Tigres UANL. Subsequently, he joined MLS’ Chivas USA in 2006 and appeared in 64 matches throughout four seasons, tallying nine goals and two assists in 5,122 minutes. “I am grateful to LAFC and Estrella TV for allowing me to be part of their history, and I’m ready to enjoy and call the games of one of the most competitive teams in Major League Soccer,” said Claudio Suárez. Internationally, Suárez remains the third most capped footballer of all-time, appearing in 178 contests for the Mexican national team. He represented Mexico at 12 major tournaments, including three FIFA World Cups, and won three Concacaf Gold Cups and the 1999 FIFA Confederations Cup. Estrella’s KRCA 62 coverage will include 30-minute pre and postgame shows, and will be anchored by Francisco X. Rivera as the play-by-play commentator, Suárez as the color analyst, and Alexandra Stergios as the sideline reporter.
