The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) hosts the Portland Timbers in the Quarterfinals of the 2019 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, July 10 at Banc of California Stadium. Kickoff tonight is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. PT and the match will be broadcast on ESPN+ and ESPN 710 AM.

The Black & Gold advanced to the last eight after defeating Real Salt Lake 3-0 in the Fourth Round on June 11 and San Jose Earthquakes 3-1 in the Round of 16 on June 20. Meanwhile, the Timbers got through to the quarterfinals after downing the Seattle Sounders 2-1 on June 12 and the LA Galaxy 4-0 on June 19.

Tonight’s U.S. Open Cup clash will be the third meeting between the two sides in 2019. In Week 2, LAFC earned a 4-1 victory over the Timbers, which marked the Club’s first regular season win over Portland. On June 1, the Black & Gold would sweep the season series with a 3-2 victory in the Timbers’ home opener at Providence Park.

Last year, the Black & Gold went 0-1-1 during MLS play, suffering a 2-1 defeat at Providence Park on May 19 followed by a scoreless draw in Los Angeles on July 15. Four days later, LAFC would defeat the Timbers 3-2 in the Quarterfinals of the 2018 U.S. Open Cup.
